Country Coordinator (Open to Tier 0, 1 and 2 candidates only)
Overview
The Country Coordinator manages the UNV Field Unit and leads UNV's engagement at the country level, ensuring effective mobilization of volunteers and promotion of volunteerism.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead volunteer mobilization by developing and implementing country-level strategies, participating in UN planning processes, and promoting Online Volunteering.
- Manage partnerships by building relationships with UN partners, analyzing country strategies, and engaging with government, civil society, and private sector.
- Ensure Duty of Care for volunteers by providing guidance to host entities, working with UNDSS on safety and security, and facilitating regular engagement with volunteers.
- Lead advocacy on volunteerism by aligning communications with mobilization goals, developing volunteer stories, and staying informed of national volunteer initiatives.
- Manage the Field Unit (FU) by coordinating service delivery, supervising team members, developing work plans and budgets, and liaising with UNDP teams.
Required Experience
Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience in humanitarian, development and/or peace-related fields. Experience in partnership building and management is essential. Experience in advocacy, public relations, or communication is an asset. Experience in programme reporting, monitoring and evaluation is an asset. Experience in volunteer management and/or promotion of volunteerism is an asset. Experience in working in digital platforms and tools, including CRM and ERP systems is an asset. Work experience with the United Nations is an asset.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent), or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience.
