Performance Analysis and Projections Analyst [Open to Tier 0, 1 and 2 applicants only]

Overview

The Performance Analysis and Projections Analyst supports the development of funding analysis and projections, coordinates performance assessments, administers the UNDP Partnership Survey, and liaises with GSSU for contribution recording.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring funding projections, dashboards and analytical tables.
• Draft data inputs and supporting narrative for annual funding reports, the Funding Compendium, funding toolkits and other corporate products.
• Prepare and quality-assure supporting data and draft content for Executive Board papers.
• Support research on flexible funding modalities.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of contributions and multi-year agreements in Quantum plus (UNITY).
• Reconcile funding commitment and contributions records, identify discrepancies and follow up.
• Prepare UNDP’s supporting documentation for the UN Pledging Conference.
• Support external partner assessments and the UNDP Partnership Survey.
• Track implementation of assessment recommendations and help communicate progress.
• Synthesize assessment, survey and performance data into clear summaries.
• Collect and synthesize BERA inputs to the UNDP Strategic Plan, the Integrated Results and Resources Framework (IRRF) and other corporate planning and reporting processes.
• Support monitoring and reporting on Bureau-level performance.
• Contribute to training, knowledge products and communities of practice.
• Support consistent use of UNITY (UNDP's CRM system).
• Verify and validate new organizations and support assignment of UNITY focal points.
• Monitor pipeline data and follow up with bureaus/offices.
• Liaise with ITM and other units to support system functionality and flag improvement needs.
• Identify and escalate system or implementation risks to management.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years (with Master’s degree), or 4 years (Bachelor’s degree), of relevant professional work experience in Resource Analysis and Corporate Funding Projections is required.
• Demonstrated experience preparing funding projections, dashboards, or analytical reports using contribution, pipeline, or donor data.
• Experience with CRM or ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Quantum, SAP, or similar) for recording and reconciling partnership/financial data is an asset.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and applications for data analysis, forecasting, or process automation is desirable.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with Python or R for data processing is an asset.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations, political or social sciences, law, economics, finance, business administration, public administration or other related field.
• A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• A degree with a strong quantitative, data science, or statistics component is an asset.
