Overview
The Political Affairs Intern will support the United Nations Analysis and Outreach Hub on Children and Armed Conflict in Doha with research, communication, and outreach activities related to the OSRSG-CAAC mandate.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and reference searches on issues related to children and armed conflict.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders and contribute to collaborative projects.
- Attend and take notes at conferences and meetings.
- Assist in preparing and formatting communication materials.
- Support outreach and visibility activities.
- Monitor news articles, press releases, and social media.
- Assist in servicing conferences and meetings.
- Assist in preparing reports, concept papers, policy documents, and other materials.
- Perform other duties including administrative tasks.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
- be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- be computer literate in standard software such as Microsoft Excel, MS Word and Teams or similar.
