Overview

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Intern (Data and Governance) will assist the Data & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance unit in ensuring the responsible, secure, and ethical use of data and AI within the organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the global rollout of the Healthy Data Scorecard initiative to build and maintain the organisation’s data inventory and create a clear view of data ownership, location, and sensitivity.
  • Support the management of the organisational AI Registry to maintain transparency and accountability for AI systems.
  • Support data risk and compliance assessments to ensure data handling practices comply with policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist in preparing awareness materials and knowledge sessions on Data Governance.
  • Conduct research on emerging Data Governance and AI governance frameworks and standards.
Required Experience
  • Less than two years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience compiling metrics or visualizations for dashboards (beneficial).
  • Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis.
  • Conceptual knowledge to enterprise data and AI inventories, data domain registers, or data management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent degree program, or have graduated in the last 12 months.
  • Coursework or certification in Data Governance, Data Protection, or Information Security is an asset.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
Contract Duration
6 months with possibility of extension

Remuneration
Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs.
