Overview

This internship focuses on graphic design and visual communication to support the Planning, Finance & Economy Section (PFES) of UN-Habitat. The role involves creating compelling visual content to communicate the section's work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the design of graphics for social media, infographics, reports, and event materials.
  • Transform data and research into engaging infographics and visual formats.
  • Produce promotional visuals, videos, and presentations.
  • Design and format official publications, reports, and brochures.
  • Create artwork for social media posts and campaigns.
  • Support editing, curation, and archiving of photo and video material.
  • Ensure visual designs align with UN-Habitat's corporate identity.
  • Contribute to branding and visual identity for events and campaigns.
  • Review performance metrics and adapt design strategies.
  • Support integration of visual assets into communication outputs.
  • Contribute to the development of a design and media library.
Required Experience
  • Experience working in urban design, communication or graphic design is required.
  • General social media management experience is desirable.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
  • Computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Preferred areas of study: Communication, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, or Media studies, International development, or related field relevant for sustainable urban development.

Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
