Overview
Consultant to support the Government of the Philippines and civil society in realizing the rights of every Filipino child, focusing on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in children and Children with Disabilities (CWD).
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the review and update of data sources and reporting mechanisms for NCD indicators.
- Provide technical support to PhilHealth in developing and enhancing NCD benefit packages.
- Support the review of strategies to prevent NCD risk factors in children and enhance the Healthy Learning Institution framework.
- Facilitate policy review and development for health systems and primary health care for children and adolescents with NCDs.
- Support the review and development of community engagement and demand generation policies and strategies for NCDs in children.
- Support the establishment of a multi-sectoral coordination mechanism or coalition for childhood NCDs.
- Support the development of the Manual of Operations on the Categorization of Disabilities and other disability related initiatives.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in public health programming, preferably in Non-Communicable Diseases and disability programming.
- Experience working on national and local government advocacy and coordination.
- Adequate knowledge and skills in systems strengthening, evidence generation, public-private partnerships, social behavior change communication.
- Experience in providing technical assistance at the national and subnational levels.
- Previous experience working with DOH, UNICEF and LGUs an advantage.
Qualifications
Advance degree in one or more of the disciplines: medicine, allied medical, public health, social Sciences.
