Overview
The Equine Assisted Psychosocial Support Consultant will support the preparation, organization, and facilitation of structured EAPSS activities for veterans, veteran families, and families of the fallen, applying a peer-to-peer approach to foster trust and support emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, organization, and facilitation of structured EAPSS activities.
- Accompany and support the implementation of EAPSS activities.
- Apply a peer-to-peer approach in engagement with beneficiaries.
- Collaborate closely with other team members.
- Participate in monitoring, reflection, and feedback processes.
- Support visibility and donor engagement efforts.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Experience working with people (e.g. in community, support, or volunteer roles).
- Interest in psychology and ability to understand and support others emotionally (basic psychosocial skills).
Qualifications
- Completed secondary education.
- Complete mandatory training on Equine Assisted Psychosocial Support (EAPSS) and demonstrate understanding of the IOM Toolkit on Equine-Assisted Psychosocial Support for Veterans.
