Overview

The European Commission is seeking a Secretary / Administrative Agent to contribute to the smooth running of the Secretariat of the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) and the Economic Policy Committee (EPC). The role involves supporting the efficient preparation of Committee meetings and assisting the Head of Unit in organisational matters.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the Secretariat and efficient preparation of Committee meetings.
  • Be in charge of logistics for meeting preparation (room booking, document distribution, reimbursement claims).
  • Attend meetings and take care of follow-up.
  • Update mailing lists, compile briefing books, and maintain archives and websites.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel abroad for Committee meetings.
  • Assist the Head of Unit in organisational matters, including coordinating communication, organising missions, registering documents, organising unit meetings, and assisting with personnel administration.
Required Experience

• For AST/SC jobs: appropriate professional experience of at least three years, if holding a secondary education diploma giving access to post-secondary education.

Qualifications
  • For AD jobs: at least a level of education corresponding to completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma.
  • For AST and AST/SC jobs: at least a level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, OR a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education.
Other Details
Languages Required
• Thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • Satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of another official EU language. • Interest in economic and financial issues.
Contract Duration
• The duration of the 1st contract will be up to 4 years. • The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years.
Work Modality
• The place of employment will be Brussels.
Remuneration
• The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances. • Pay is subject to a tax raised by the institutions.
