Overview

The ICLA Assistant is responsible for the implementation of Information, Counselling, and Legal Assistance (ICLA) activities in field locations, providing confidential counselling services to beneficiaries and conducting assessments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate ICLA activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets, and plans.
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements.
  • Involve and inform communities and community leaders about the activities.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents as required.
  • Provide information, counselling, and legal assistance to NRC’s beneficiaries.
  • Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of community sensitization campaigns.
  • Conduct assessments and regular monitoring in IDP and host communities.
  • Report on progress and challenges in the implementation of activities.
  • Ensure that various procurement and finance-related forms are prepared accurately.
  • Adhere to NRC’s security and client confidentiality policies.
  • Ensure good cooperation and exchange of information with other NRC colleagues and staff from other organizations.
  • Represent NRC in a professional manner in meetings with government authorities, humanitarian partners, and beneficiary communities.
Required Experience
  • Experience in legal protection in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Proven skills and experience in report writing.
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills and the ability to work with little infrastructure and to function in difficult situations, including limited transport options.
Qualifications

• Holder of a bachelor’s degree in law or any other social sciences from a recognized University.

• Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of Juba Arabic and other local languages is an advantage
Contract Duration
6 months (with possible extension subject to funding)
Work Modality
Travel: 90% to the field site
