Overview
The Migration Health On-Call Physician will be responsible for the efficient daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) and regional Migration Health activities, ensuring the fulfilment of technical requirements for resettlement countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct migration health assessments including medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, treatment and referrals, pre-departure procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure proper identification of refugees and migrants and accurate recording of health information.
- Perform treatment for TB and sexually transmitted infections, and provide support to HIV and counselling activities.
- Oversee and coordinate immunization and presumptive treatment programmes.
- Contribute to and maintain a system of quality improvement for each service area within the MHAC.
- Organize systematic collection, processing, and analysis of migration health data.
- Ensure all health assessment data is appropriately entered into MiMOSA and other related databases.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the MHAC, including budget preparation and financial reporting.
- Coordinate the procurement of medical equipment, vaccines, medications, and other medical supplies.
Required Experience
- At least four years of professional work experience.
- Professional continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.
- The last clinical posting should be within the last three years.
- Good knowledge of clinical medicine.
- Knowledge of patient safety and infection prevention and control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution.
- Valid license to practice within country is mandatory.
