Overview

The MEAL Officer position is responsible for coordinating data collection, compilation, analysis, and validation to track program activities, monitor progress, and support impact measurement. The role also involves conducting research, generating lessons learned, and preparing M&E plans.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the conduct of needs assessments and data collections.
  • Conduct training for program staff on MEL systems and data quality assurance.
  • Conduct data validation exercises and monthly meetings with program staff.
  • Participate in project reviews, especially of Log frames and learning agendas.
  • Ensure data collection tools are standardized and appropriately used.
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to project locations.
  • Ensure data collected is verified, analyzed, and reported according to DQA standards.
  • Conduct Post distribution monitoring, IYCF assessments, client exit interviews, baseline and endline assessments.
  • Ensure all data point reports validate data via the commcare application.
  • Ensure data is readily available and stored appropriately.
  • Conduct monthly Data Quality Audits.
  • Ensure project indicators are properly tracked and reported.
  • Perform statistical analysis on collected data and present findings.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of project information management systems.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting of field level data.
  • Ensure proper update of Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT).
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting with verified data.
  • Ensure client responsive channels are established and active.
  • Facilitate collaborative learning sessions and client feedback documentation.
  • Support the rollout of the Client Satisfaction Survey (CSS).
  • Support the sensitization of client feedback channels and set up client feedback desks.
  • Train staff and field monitors on client feedback channels.
  • Train project staff and partners on project deliverables, indicators, and reporting.
  • Train Research Assistants/Enumerators for field data collection.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
  • At least three (3)-years’ experience working in monitoring and evaluation preferred.
  • Demonstrated Technical Skills: Strong skills in data collections process.
  • Strong skills in tool development particularly using: Kobo collect, Comcare, SurveyCTO, Mobenzi etc.
  • Strong skills statistical analysis and skills through: STATA, SPSS, Nvivo, Microsoft excel, QGIS, PowerBi, Tableu etc.
  • Good report writing skills, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of emergency context and response.
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in diverse contexts.
Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in statistics, computer science/IT/or any sector or sub-sector related field
