Overview

The BIM Assistant intern will support the updating and management of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) model related to real estate assets at the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC).


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and updating of BIM models, including creation and revision of architectural and technical drawings.
  • Support on-site surveys to collect measurements and verify existing layouts.
  • Assist in managing model data and parameters.
  • Contribute to ensuring drawings represent functional use, allocation, and spatial organization.
  • Assist in extracting drawings, quantities, and schedules from BIM models.
  • Collaborate with facilities management and engineering teams.
  • Help maintain a digital archive of drawings.
  • Assist in generating reports from BIM models using Power BI.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Field of studies must be closely related to architecture and engineering.
  • Knowledge of Revit or AutoCad is required.
  • Applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications such as Office 365 particularly MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
