Senior Programme Associate (Economic Empowerment)

Overview

The Senior Programme Associate (Economic Empowerment) will lead and coordinate the implementation of projects and initiatives on economic empowerment, contributing to IOM Tajikistan’s work on the migration-development nexus.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently lead and coordinate the implementation of the project.
• Monitor implementation of activities and analyse difficulties.
• Research, compile, analyse and present information on national, regional and international developments.
• Monitor budget expenditures and verify fund availability.
• Coordinate and monitor financial, administrative and technical aspects of the project.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct capacity building workshops.
• Participate in meetings and conferences and maintain liaison with stakeholders.
• Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, reports and ensure timely submission.
• Identify and document good practices and lessons learned.
• Contribute to the development of SOPs, policies and concept papers.
• Supervise and provide guidance and training to reporting staff.

Required Experience

• School diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with five years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in working in economic empowerment initiatives, especially grants and business development for migrants and their families is an advantage.
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
• Prior work experience with international financial institutions, other economic or financial entities, international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Qualifications

School diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
