Overview
Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health of Sierra Leone for the revision, adaptation, and finalization of national guidelines and training package on the management of acute malnutrition in children under five years.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing national guidelines, training packages, and operational tools.
- Analyze and synthesize relevant global guidance, including the 2023 WHO Guidelines.
- Identify key recommendations requiring national adaptation and support technical discussions.
- Assess gaps, outdated practices, and inconsistencies.
- Draft revised national guidelines, training materials, and job aids.
- Support and facilitate stakeholder consultations and technical workshops.
- Support the organization and facilitation of validation workshops.
- Finalize the national guidelines, training package, and job aids.
- Contribute to the development of an implementation and dissemination plan.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in nutrition policy, programme implementation, or guideline development.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in revising clinical and/or operational guidelines for the management of acute malnutrition.
- Proven familiarity with WHO normative guidance, particularly the 2023 WHO Guidelines on wasting and nutritional oedema, and experience in supporting national adaptation processes.
- Strong experience in the management of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and monitoring of nutrition programme implementation.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Paediatrics, or a related field.
