Sub-Saharan Africa Program Coordinator – Temporary

Overview

The Sub-Saharan Africa Program Coordinator – Temporary will support the Sub-Saharan Africa Programme desk with research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and event organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out research and analysis on the energy sector and related developments in Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Support engagement and relationship building with stakeholders from Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Contribute to the organisation of physical and remote events.
• Draft briefs, memoranda, and supporting documents.
• Support with reporting and administrative requirements.
• Prepare documents, presentations, and other inputs for IEA committees.
• Support analytical work and peer review of IEA reports.
• Contribute to communication efforts, including drafting letters, producing a newsletter, and social media coverage.

Required Experience

At least 5 years’ experience, including internships, on energy policy topics focusing on Sub-Saharan African countries; Experience in research and analysis; drafting policy or briefs; and analysing complex geopolitical developments, particularly on the energy sector. Experience working with Sub-Saharan African governments and interacting with key stakeholders across the region. Prior experience with diplomatic tasks would be an advantage.

Qualifications

A university degree(s) in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, energy policy, environment, international relations, African studies or related field would be ideal).
