Overview
Support the implementation of youth and communication related activities of the UNFPA Uzbekistan Country Office. The internship offers students practical experience in various aspects of UNFPA work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of youth-focused programmes, trainings, campaigns, and events;
- Contribute to the development of training materials, presentations, reports, concept notes, and other programme documents;
- Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, consultations, and capacity-building activities, including logistical and administrative arrangements within Youth Network;
- Support communication and outreach activities for UNFPA Uzbekistan, including social media content creation, event promotion, and visibility initiatives in Uzbek, Russian and English;
- Prepare at least 6 communication materials about UNFPA activities (e.g., human interest stories, social media content, success stories);
- Support the documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and best practices from programme activities;
- Take part in trainings and meetings organized by UNFPA CO for its employees;
- Final internship report summarizing tasks performed, learning outcomes, and recommendations.
- Perform other programme-related tasks assigned by the supervisor in support of organizational objectives.
Required Experience
Applicants for the Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, prior experience (inc. internship, volunteering) will be an asset.
Qualifications
Applicants MUST at the time of application meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master's degree or higher). Preferred fields of study include, but are not limited to, Media and Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Strategic Communication, Digital Media, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Gender Studies, and other disciplines related to UNFPA's mandate (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent) ; (c) Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
