Engineer Resource and Logistic Specialist
Overview
The Engineer Resource and Logistic Specialist provides Engineer resources and logistics to the Operations Planning Group and deployed force. In a crisis, the incumbent deploys with the GENG Division.
Key Responsibilities
- ls responsible to the Branch Head for all matters related to GENG Logistics, resources and Host Nation Support (HNS), including coordination of Logistic effort with the Logistic Division, JFC and Contractors.
- The GENG representative to DCOS Support disciplines.
- Coordinates and monitors the development and implementation the GËNG Logistics, resources and HNS arrangements within the LANDCOM Area of Responsibility.
- Contributes in the development of MILENG logistic plans, Engineer Appendices in Operational Staff work and be prepared to support the SO Plans and 5O Operations in Operational Planning Group (OPG) events.
- Provides contribution and input to the relevant Recognized Military Engineer Picture, Recognized Logistic Picture and LOGFAS.
- ldentifies and highlights Engineer Logistic and Resource shortfalls, risks and surpluses.
- Supports Requirement Review WG/B, HQ Sustainment WG/B and HNS WG as required.
- Develop and maintain input to NATO doctrine and publications.
- Submits observations in his/her area of expertise and contributes to the Lessons Learned process.
- Advise the Command on any issues pertaining to MILENG Logistics and resources.
- Apply the same tasks from above to the Planning cycle.
- Contributes to Land Coordination Orders, OPORDs, FRAGOs.
- Supports Requirement Review WG/B, HQ Sustainment WG/B and HNS WG as required.
Required Experience
Three years’ experience as engineer at Division Headquarters level or higher. Activities that operate, maintain, and perform war/battle damage repair and other engineering functions typically in support of military operations. Involved in operational planning to identify the minimum essential engineering services required to support the commitment of military forces. Activities that involve logistics management. Participates in the overall planning, organizing, and directing of programmes, services, and support activities carried out through all logistics functions. Develops plans and policy guidance to implement logistics management programs. Directs and administers a positive management-oriented logistics management programme.
Qualifications
University Degree in Military engineering Disciplines, logistics, transport or related discipline and 2 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
