Overview
The Economic Recovery Coordinator will provide technical support to DRC and partner teams for economic recovery activities, including food security, livelihoods, market systems, and financial inclusion. The role involves capacity building, coaching, monitoring, and supervising the development and implementation of the Country Economic Recovery strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advisory to implementation teams.
- Lead on creation and roll out of the technical strategy.
- Support the Head of Programme in creating and reviewing the Country Programme Strategy.
- Provide technical inputs and review proposals, reports, assessments and evaluations.
- Provide technical capacity building to implementation teams and partners.
- Prepare learning/knowledge products, SoPs and guidelines.
- Initiate and contribute to EcRec sector capacity gap analysis.
- Analyze Uganda EcRec sector challenges, trends, programmes and projects.
- Support Programme Managers in recruitment of technical staff.
- Support MEAL Manager in rolling out monitoring and evaluation approaches.
- Lead on DRC’s EcRec representation with relevant Sectors and working groups.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to promote DRC EcRec programme and support fundraising.
- Actively seek out new viable partnerships for the EcRec sectors.
- Actively seek out appropriate funding opportunities.
- Produce materials for EcRec programme advocacy.
- Interact with global and regional initiatives and partnerships.
- Contribute to and lead business development initiatives related to EcRec sector.
- Represent DRC at technical coordination forums.
- Maintain close working relationships with technical leads within DRC Uganda, HQ Hub, and HQ.
- Take an active role in promoting DRC’s program advocacy messages.
- Carry out other duties requested by the Head of Programme.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of practical experience in the humanitarian sector and in the thematic areas of food security, livelihoods, agriculture and financial inclusion. Strong experience in implementing livelihoods and financial inclusion interventions, across the entire project cycle. Previous experience working in refugee response in Uganda.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in political science, international development, economic studies or other related fields.
