INTERN - SOCIAL SCIENCES (GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT COMMUNICATIONS)
Overview
Support communications work related to gender equality and women’s empowerment within the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Section.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting content for public information materials, including social media, website content, news stories, and blogs;
- Producing multimedia material, including infographics, presentation slides, event flyers, backdrops, banners and short videos;
- Conducting research and compiling information for use in the preparation and production of reports;
- Assisting in organizing and convening events including commemorations, meetings, seminars, and workshops;
- Assisting with photography and video coverage when required;
- Performing other duties as might be assigned by the Chief of Section.
Required Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme, however experience in the following would be an asset: related practical experience working with digital communication tools, including social media platforms, graphic design, video editing and production using communications tools such as Adobe, Canva, or comparable computer software; related experience creating content for digital publishing including adapting briefing notes, press releases and speeches for social media and/or websites; strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate complex research into common language; and/or experience working on issues related to gender equality and women’s empowerment, particularly with regards to the care economy or entrepreneurship.
Qualifications
Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
