Overview
The internship supports the Energy Division in enhancing energy security, energy transition, and addressing climate change through regional cooperation. The role involves information collection, research, and analysis in various energy-related areas.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake information collection, research and analysis in areas such as key energy challenges and solutions for SDGs, mobilizing and rationalizing energy financing, developing project proposals for power system connectivity, energy modelling, economic analysis of energy access, analysis of natural gas role in SDG 7, implications of energy transition on minerals and materials, research on sustainable cooling, maintenance and update of the Asia-Pacific Energy Portal, and knowledge management including webpage updates and social media content.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
