Intern for communications and knowledge management

Overview

Support communication and knowledge management tasks for projects and initiatives related to chemicals and pollution within the United Nations Environment Programme Latin America and the Caribbean Office.

Key Responsibilities

• Support communication tasks of networks on pollution, including coordination, management, and dissemination of events.
• Coordinate external communication of cooperation networks, including updating web pages and drafting informative notes.
• Support drafting, design, and dissemination of progress reports.
• Support knowledge management, including compilation of results from knowledge-sharing activities.
• Support coordination and preparation of meetings, including interactive dynamics, material preparation, and minute-taking.
• Support development of public awareness materials.
• Support coordination of face-to-face events.
• Support other activities of the Chemicals and Pollution Programme.

Qualifications

• Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
• a. Be enrolled in Master´s Degree programme (second university degree or equivalent) in the fields of communication, graphic design, public awareness, international relations, social sciences and/or related field of studies;
• b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university Bachelor´s degree program in the fields of communication, graphic design, public awareness, international relations, social sciences and/or related field of studies.
• c. Have graduated with a Bachelor´s degree in the fields of communication, graphic design, public awareness, international relations, social sciences and/or related field of studies.
• Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
