Overview
Provides administrative and office management support within the Office of Administration of Justice, specifically in the Registry of the United Nations Appeals Tribunal in New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs office management and administrative support functions.
- Assists with travel arrangements and expense reports for UNAT Judges.
- Maintains liaison with other offices and clients.
- Ensures smooth workflow and prepares confidential information.
- Assists in developing office administrative systems and procedures.
- Proofs and formats Judgments, Orders, and other documents.
- Creates electronic case binders.
- Coordinates service-wide activities, special projects, and events.
- Attends meetings, prepares minutes, and monitors follow-up activities.
- Responds to correspondence and drafts responses.
- Updates internal databases and/or website.
- Carries out quality control for outgoing documents.
- Responds to complex information requests.
- Assists in preparing presentation materials.
- Maintains calendars/schedules and communicates relevant information.
- Performs administrative duties such as leave recording, meeting organization, and supply orders.
- Prepares and processes administrative requests/documents.
- Maintains files and databases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of experience providing administrative and/or legal support, conference/meeting servicing, general office support or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 3 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Teams/Sharepoint or similar systems is required. Experience with Adobe Pro or similar applications is desirable. Experience working with ERP systems as it relates to travel administration is desirable.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical or vocational certificate in administrative services, human resources, personnel management or paralegal services is desirable.
