National Consultant (Part-time): Pandemic Fund Communications Consultant, WHO Country Office, Malaysia
Overview
Support the Ministry of Health and other relevant ministries in Malaysia for the implementation of risk communication and community engagement activities under the Pandemic Fund project. Coordinate, implement, and monitor communication activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development of Health Security Literacy Guidelines.
- Support regional adaptation of guidelines.
- Develop communication/visibility products.
- Coordinate organization of events.
- Support Ministry of Health to update the Risk Communication Guideline for pandemic preparedness and response.
- Prepare monthly consultancy reports, notes from calls/meetings, and final technical reports.
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic communications, including developing risk communication and/or public health communication materials, community engagement and stakeholder coordination, and in research, content development, and policy/guideline documentation. Desirable: Experience working within the UN system or with UN/WHO partners. Experience in health emergency preparedness, outbreak communication, or KAP surveys. Familiarity with Malaysia’s health landscape and frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Health, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field. Desirable: Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communication, Health Promotion, Risk Communication, Public Health).
