Initernational Consultant - Capacity building for Health in All Policies (HiAPs) and Health Impact Assessment (HIA) - Determinants of Health and community engagement

Overview

Consultancy to strengthen national capacities in integrating health considerations across public policies through Health in All Policies (HiAPs) and Health Impact Assessment (HIA). The role involves designing and delivering a training program to build a pool of national experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a modular HiAP/HIA training curriculum (approximately five modules) aligned with WHO's Health in All Policies: Training Manual (2015) with inputs from selected HIA guides globally and adapted to the Jordanian context including relevant case studies and examples.
• Deliver a training kit with five distinct modules.
• Prepare comprehensive training materials (presentations, exercises, facilitator notes, evaluation tools).
• Deliver a Training of Trainers (ToT) program to national participants from health and non-health sectors incorporating hybrid (online and in-person) format.
• Facilitate theoretical and practical sessions with interactive group work and HIA application exercises.
• Provide certification of completion to participants who meet all course requirements.
• Develop a roadmap for institutionalizing HiAPs and HIA capacity in Jordan.
• Submit a final report of the training including the evaluation of the training.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in health promotion, determinants of health, community engagement.
• Experience with digital learning platforms and tools for online training delivery.
• Desirable: Experience working with UN agencies, WHO, or other international health organizations.
• Desirable: Proven track record in establishing or strengthening sentinel surveillance systems, particularly for invasive bacterial diseases.
• Desirable: Experience in training healthcare workers and developing surveillance protocols or guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum first university degree for lower end of range, an advanced university degree for mid and high end of range, in Public Health, health-related disciplines or any other relevant areas.
