Consultant-CHE/HPD, Climate Change, Health-System Resilience. Band level B.
Overview
To provide technical expertise for climate change and health across the CHE portfolio, focusing on health vulnerability and adaptation assessments, health-system resilience, and air quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver health vulnerability and adaptation assessments for critical-three countries, including adapting methodology and tools for fragile settings.
- Provide technical review and quality assurance of national H-VAA data collection and analysis.
- Integrate health-system resilience components into assessment packages and agree H-NAP roadmap outlines.
- Develop policy briefs for critical-three countries.
- Conduct air quality assessment scoping and protocols for Egypt and Afghanistan.
- Provide regional air-quality-and-health technical inputs.
- Submit monthly progress reports.
Required Experience
At least five years of relevant experience in climate change and health, health-system resilience or environmental health, including experience conducting or supervising vulnerability and adaptation assessments. Desirable experience includes work in fragile, conflict-affected or access-constrained settings; with WHO H-VAA and H-NAP guidance; with WHO or the UN system; with air quality and health assessment methods; and project coordination.
Qualifications
Essential: Minimum first university degree for lower end of range, an advanced university degree for mid and high end of range, in public health, environmental health, environmental science, climate science or a related field.
