Technical Officer in Social Security (SSPTW)

Overview

Undertake technical work for social security databases and related analysis projects, ensuring timely delivery of defined project outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize surveys of social security organizations to obtain input to the ISSA social security databases.
• Undertake additional research on social protection schemes and write country profiles.
• Coordinate the work of other analysts producing country profiles.
• Edit the English version of country profiles, and where language skills permit, other language versions (French, Spanish, German).
• Provide technical inputs and contribute to the publication of country profiles and the production of regular analytical articles.
• Provide technical inputs and contribute to regional and global reports.
• Provide technical inputs (articles, reports) for responses to individual requests from ISSA member organizations.
• Coordinate the maintenance and updating of SSPTW information in the database and its diffusion on the ISSA web portal.
• Liaise with other international organizations working in the same area.
• Monitor and coordinate the work of interns or external collaborators.
• Contribute to identifying good practices.
• Participate in seminars and workshops as resource person.
• Represent the technical unit and/or the ISSA at international, regional and national fora.
• Undertake other duties as required.
• Contribute to the ISSA member engagement and recruitment strategies.
• Promote the inclusion of gender equality and non-discrimination in all aspects of the work.

Required Experience

At least five years’ experience in the field of comparative social protection/social security policy or related work. International experience would be an advantage.

Qualifications

Advanced level university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant technical field. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a relevant field with an additional two years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
