Consultant - Nuclear Security Detection

Overview

The consultant will provide technical expertise and support to enhance nuclear security detection capabilities and architectures for materials out of regulatory control, considering country-specific needs and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical input for country-specific projects and activities related to nuclear security detection systems and measures.
• Conduct technical assessments and provide advice on Member States' nuclear security systems and measures for detection of nuclear and other radioactive material out of regulatory control.
• Implement Integrated Nuclear Security Support Plans (INSSP) and provide technical input according to IAEA and international recommendations and guidelines.
• Contribute to the application of technical recommendations and guidelines relevant to nuclear security detection, including preparation of training materials, conducting missions, and delivering capacity building activities.
• Draft technical inputs for guidance documents relevant to nuclear security detection matters.

Required Experience

At least 5 years of professional experience in the area of nuclear security detection architecture, system and measures for materials out of regulatory control (at national or international levels).

Qualifications

University degree in physics, nuclear science and engineering or a related field.
