Consultant - Nuclear Security Response Plans and Procedures
Overview
Provides technical expertise to strengthen national frameworks for managing the response to criminal or intentional unauthorized acts involving nuclear or other radioactive material out of regulatory control, focusing on the development, implementation, and sustainability of response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of training materials and relevant publications, in line with existing nuclear security guidance and, lessons learned;
- Conduct activities, including meetings, training events, Agency missions, table top and field exercises to support Member States to build sustainable nuclear security response capabilities within the specific projects related to the development of nuclear security response capabilities.
- Contribute to ensuring effective coordination within the organization and with Member States related to projects implementation.
Required Experience
Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience working in nuclear security, with a focus on developing response capabilities and plans and procedures. Experience in developing guidance and training materials related to response to nuclear security events. National and international experience in response planning and field operations. In-depth knowledge of, and proven experience with, nuclear security response systems and measures, national frameworks for managing the response to nuclear security events, and development of nuclear security plans and procedures.
Qualifications
University degree or equivalent in the field of nuclear chemistry, physics or in another field (such as law enforcement). Advanced university degree or equivalent in the field of nuclear chemistry, physics or in another field (such as law enforcement) is an asset.
