International Consultants – Trafficking in Persons

Overview

Develop and finalize three studies on trafficking in persons, focusing on forced labour, nexus with other crimes, and sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a study on trafficking in persons for the purpose of forced labour in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, covering characteristics, legislation, victim referral, and recommendations.
• Review and finalize the study on trafficking in persons for the purpose of forced labour.
• Develop a study on trafficking in persons for the purpose of determining potential nexus(es) between trafficking in persons (TiP) and other crimes, covering elements of crime, distinctions, and recommendations.
• Review and finalize the study on trafficking in persons for the purpose of determining potential nexus(es) between TiP and other crimes.
• Develop a study on trafficking in persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation in travel and tourism, covering characteristics, distinctions, victim protection, and recommendations.
• Review and finalize the study on trafficking in persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation in travel and tourism.

Required Experience

• At least seven (7) years of professional experience in crime prevention, law enforcement, prosecution, criminal justice, international relations, international criminal law and/or related areas, is required.
• Practical experience in conducting legal assessments and research in the area of trafficking in person and in the delivery of relevant training is required.
• Knowledge of the legal framework concerning TiP, particularly the UNTOC and UN TiP Protocol, Islamic law, in addition to familiarity with the Arab regional anti-human trafficking instrument, is desirable.
• Working experience in the GCC and/or MENA regions is desirable.

Qualifications

An Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in the fields of law, criminology or other related social sciences is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields, in combination with additional two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
