Intern - Strategic Communications and Advocacy

Overview

This internship supports the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand by developing and delivering public information activities to communicate the work of the Resident Coordinator and the UN Country Team in support of Thailand’s sustainable development priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare press releases, feature stories, and social media captions in English and Thai languages.
• Produce graphics, videos, reels, infographics and digital content that communicate the work of the UN Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team as well as key stakeholders and partners for publishing across all UN Thailand platforms.
• Support integrated visibility and joint communications planning with UN agencies and partners across digital platforms, media and in-person activities, including events, launches, advocacy activities and real-time coverage, while maintaining consistent messaging and UN brand standards.
• Monitor digital platforms, media coverage and online discussion of issues relevant to the UN’s work in Thailand, using AI-enabled technology and analytics for social listening and identifying content trends and support communications planning and information integrity.

Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications

• Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
• Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter and backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
