Overview
Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorised personnel and general cargo goods. Performs day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles and assists with administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Drives vehicles safely for the transport of authorised personnel and general cargo goods.
- Makes regular deliveries of parcels, documents, etc., between UN offices and other institutions.
- Makes minor purchases and collects urgent purchases from local suppliers.
- Collects goods from customs with due regard to customs regulations and formalities.
- Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities.
- Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors.
- Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs.
- Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.
- Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc.
- Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
- Applies good judgment in the context of assignments given.
- Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports.
- Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages, brochures and other materials.
- Assists in provision of administrative support including operating and maintaining office ICT equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of progressive responsible experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required. Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles is required. Experience with the United Nations or similar International Organization is desirable. One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
Completion of a High School diploma or equivalent is required. Valid National Driver License is required. A defensive driving certificate is desirable.
