Overview

The National Project Officer (Reception Facility Operations) will support the daily management of the Reception Facility for Voluntary Return (DARV), coordinating operations and liaising with service providers and IOM partners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of the Reception Facility for Voluntary Return (DARV).
  • Serve as main focal with the main service provider (OPLA) for maintenance, catering, pre-departure activities, distribution of kits, liaising with partners, and staff scheduling.
  • Monitor MiMOSA cost management DARV activities and beneficiaries.
  • Review and consolidate identified operational needs at the DARV and follow up with Procurement and Logistics.
  • Support the establishment and implementation of a feedback and complaints mechanism.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for monitoring activities.
  • Act as focal point for external activities at the transit center.
  • Facilitate the participation of migrants in the DARV's governance system.
  • Support the dissemination, awareness, and observance of the DARV's internal rules.
  • Coordinate the referral of migrants with specific needs to relevant IOM units.
  • Prepare and submit detailed weekly operational reports.
  • Supervise and guide a team of assistants at the center.
  • Coordinate the implementation of AVRR procedures.
  • Support the implementation of pre-departure activities.
  • Collaborate with Medical, Operations, and Protection teams to support daily service delivery.
  • Support the financial and administrative processes of the DARV.
  • Contribute suggestions to improve DARV management coordination processes.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned.
Required Experience
  • Two years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields.
  • Experience in IOM administrative and financial management, budget monitoring, cash management and internal control procedures.
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
  • Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields.
Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in French and English is required (oral and written). All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of Arabic, Bambara, Hausa or Germa/Songhai is an advantage. Working knowledge of any other UN language is an advantage
Contract Duration
1 year with possibility of extension
