Individual Consultant - Gender/GBVie Analyst, Alabel, Philippines
Overview
The Gender/GBVie Analyst will coordinate, implement, monitor, and report on gender equality and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response initiatives, focusing on the UNFPA Mindanao Earthquake Response. The role supports the roll-out of gender and GBVie-related programmes, tracks progress, and reports on results, while advancing strategies such as policy advocacy and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to UNFPA and implementing partners in the identification, planning, implementation, and monitoring of SRH/Gender/GBVie activities.
- Support UNFPA’s engagement with government offices and interagency mechanisms in the region.
- Provide technical oversight of the implementation of the UNFPA Mindanao Earthquake early recovery project.
- Facilitate the development and/or revision of results-based Annual Work Plans (AWPs).
- Conduct review and quality assurance of quarterly work plan progress reports, transaction lists, and FACE forms.
- Convene quarterly collegial reviews with implementing partners.
- Organize convergence and harmonization meetings among Gender/GBV Mindanao IPs.
- Establish and/or reinvigorate relationships with key SRH and Gender/GBVie-related government counterparts and non-government stakeholders.
- Forge collaborative relationships with executing agencies, technical experts, government partners, and other UN agencies.
- Contribute to the Country Office’s resource mobilization strategy for advancing the Three Zeroes Plus agenda in Mindanao.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
Work experience in the areas of gender, gender transformative approaches, gender-based violence/harmful practices, sexual and reproductive health, public health or social sciences is desirable. Experience providing technical support in the development and/or implementation of sexual and reproductive health and gender transformative approaches at the sub-national level. Experience in working on SRH, gender-based violence prevention and response in both development and humanitarian settings is an advantage. Prior experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring work plans is an advantage. Field experience is a strong asset.
Qualifications
Advanced University Degree in a field of study relevant to UNFPA’s mandate, such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women’s studies, public health, public administration, international relations, international development, law or other related fields OR A first-level university degree (Bachelor) in combination with at least two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
