Protection Team Leader

Overview

The Protection Team Leader will support the day-to-day implementation of protection programming in Rakhine and enhance the technical capacities of protection monitors. This role involves identifying training needs, coordinating and delivering training, and facilitating teamwork among protection staff and community members.

Key Responsibilities

• Take the lead on coordinating data collection and analysis for monthly protection trend reports.
• Participate in quality assurance of field-level monitoring.
• Support efforts to improve qualitative understanding of specific thematic issues.
• Regularly review data collected by teams and reporting systems.
• Provide direct supervision and support to field staff.
• Participate in monitoring and information missions.
• Review written and oral information campaigns and develop strategies for improving information dissemination.
• Develop individual work plans for staff, focusing on building management capacity and autonomy.
• Provide a community-based protection lens on all protection monitoring reporting and information campaigns.
• Act as a focal point for the protection network on relevant protection trends.
• Oversee quality protection monitoring, information dissemination, case referrals, and support trend analysis.
• Lead implementation of emergency response pre-positioning in coordination with community members and local stakeholders.
• Assess training and capacity building needs of staff and partners and collaborate on plans.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Undertake other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Required Experience

• Experience in supporting the day-to-day implementation of protection programming.
• Experience in identifying training needs and coordinating and delivering training.
• Experience in day-to-day support and facilitation of teamwork among protection monitors/mobilizers and focal points and community members.
• Experience in protection monitoring to understand the protection environment, vulnerability mapping, available services, and existing gaps.
• Experience in producing sharable reports detailing needed actions by IRC, humanitarian, and government actors.
• Experience in carrying out information campaigns to inform people of available services and access.
• Experience in conducting shelter and NFI needs assessments.
• Experience in conducting follow-up distributions according to best practice in coordination with local level stakeholders with appropriate documentation.
• Experience in quality assurance of monitoring conducted at field level.
• Experience in improving qualitative understanding of specific thematic issues.
• Experience in regular review of data collected by the teams, and reporting systems.
• Experience in drafting required reports.
• Experience in providing direct supervision and support to field staff.

• Experience in collaborating on the drafting and implementation of capacity building plans.
• Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
