UNEP Mercury Consultant - Oral Health Expert
Overview
Develop two Medium Sized Projects (MSPs) and associated annexes to phase out the use of dental amalgam in oral care, supporting target countries in improving regulatory frameworks, health insurances, and waste management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft project submission packages and associated annexes and appendices.
- Coordinate, receive, and analyse reports, information, and data from main partners.
- Develop baseline scenario and key barriers preventing phase down/out of dental amalgam.
- Develop project design including components, outcomes, outputs, and activities, and related problem tree, solution tree, and Theory of Change (ToC).
- Develop project results framework with appropriate targets and indicators.
- Develop project budget breakdown.
- Develop gender mainstream action plan.
- Develop stakeholder engagement plan.
- Develop a communication strategy.
- Develop a risk mitigation plan.
- Develop a workplan for the entire duration of the project.
- Develop Terms of Reference (TORs) for key personnel.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of working experience in project management (including project preparation) at the international level is required. Working knowledge of donor funded projects (development and supervision) required. Experience in the implementation of GEF and or/ UNEP environmental or industry related programmes, projects and activities is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in a field related to dentistry, public health or relevant field (e.g. international relations, law, political or social science, environmental studies, environmental or industrial or chemical engineering) is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
