Senior Low-Carbon Building Design and Passive Cooling Expert
Overview
Support the Mitigation Branch and UNEP India Office in accelerating passive cooling in India by supporting the design and operationalisation of Passive Cooling Strategies (PCS) guidelines, providing technical assistance for affordable housing pilots, conducting capacity-building training, and leading consultations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, and operationalisation of Passive Cooling Strategies (PCS) guidelines for the State of Odisha and Maharashtra and nationally.
- Provide Technical Assistance (TA) for Affordable Housing Pilots.
- Conduct capacity-building training.
- Lead consultations and meetings with state governments.
- Develop an External Shading Design Booklet tailored for different climate zones and key latitudes.
- Provide technical expertise and organizational support to national and subnational implementation activities on sustainable urban cooling and sustainable building material activities in India.
- Support UNEP's dialogue with the Government of India, States and cities.
- Engage partners and support coordination of subcontractors.
- Develop knowledge products, tools, training material and communication pieces.
Required Experience
A minimum of twenty five years of experience in a relevant field of work, preferably with focus on conducting market research, stakeholder mapping and engagement or strategic communication activities. Expertise on India and experience engaging government, industry, finance and academia in India. Advanced experience in communication and stakeholder engagement and management. Experience on district cooling market development in India and engaging multiple stakeholders in project development and partnership building is essential.
