COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND HEALTH PROMOTION ADVISOR (HOMEBASED)
Overview
Lead and strengthen community engagement and health promotion approaches across an operational portfolio, supporting the integration of people-centred and participatory methodologies into humanitarian programmes. The role ensures patient and community perspectives inform operational decision-making, programme quality, safety, dignity, and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and support community engagement and health promotion strategies.
- Guide missions and projects in analysing patient and community needs and feedback.
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community engagement and health promotion initiatives.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among stakeholders.
- Develop and strengthen knowledge management systems, qualitative analysis processes, and capitalization initiatives.
- Provide technical support during assessments and operational reviews.
- Build organizational capacity by designing and delivering training, mentoring, and technical support.
- Represent MSF in relevant external networks, partnerships, and technical forums.
Required Experience
Minimum 4 years of field experience in humanitarian settings, with significant responsibilities in community engagement and health promotion. Experience in community engagement and participatory approaches in humanitarian contexts. Experience supporting, mentoring, and training multidisciplinary teams, including team management in the field. Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Previous experience with MSF or other international NGOs, particularly in conflict settings, will be considered a strong asset. Previous experience as an HQ Advisor will be considered an asset.
Qualifications
University degree in Social or Health Sciences or a related field. Additional studies in public/community health, anthropology, community engagement, social research or humanitarian action will be considered an asset.
