Independent National Expert - CAIP Site Selection Technical Assessment
Overview
Provide technical inputs for the selection of a pilot County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) in Kenya, contributing to a ranked technical report and supporting documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project background, site selection framework, and data collection tools.
- Coordinate site visit schedules and logistics.
- Conduct on-site visits to CAIPs, interviewing stakeholders and collecting documentary evidence.
- Apply the 10-criteria scoring framework to candidate sites.
- Consolidate and analyze data, drafting technical inputs for the ranked site assessment report.
- Prepare fallback documentation for the runner-up site.
- Incorporate feedback and support the finalization of the report.
Required Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible working experience in agribusiness, agro-industrial park development, or agricultural value chain analysis, is required. Familiarity with County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs) or comparable agro-industrial infrastructure programmes in Kenya, is required. Demonstrated experience conducting site assessments, feasibility studies, or due diligence for infrastructure or industrial development projects, is required. Working knowledge of county government structures and experience engaging national and county-level stakeholders in Kenya, is required. Excellent data collection, analysis, and report-writing skills, is required.
Qualifications
University degree (advanced degree an asset) in agribusiness, agricultural economics, industrial development, engineering, or a related field, is required.
