Overview

The Communications Analyst (Video Editor) assists in planning and implementing communications and advocacy strategies to increase UN Women's standing and awareness. The role involves developing, scripting, filming, and editing engaging video content for digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, script, film, and edit engaging content for digital platforms.
• Ensure consistency in tone, style, and brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with global colleagues and HQ teams.
• Produce short-form social videos, explainer videos, and video messages.
• Work with and guide external producers for motion and animation videos.
• Guide and work with social content creators.
• Collect, review, and categorize footage from global teams.
• Maintain quality standards for submitted video materials.
• Coordinate with regional teams for content needs and footage availability.
• Ensure proper permissions, usage rights, and brand compliance for footage.
• Guide regional and country teams for in video field missions.
• Support the DAMS manager with the video library/DAM.
• Oversee metadata accuracy, naming conventions, and taxonomy.
• Train global teams on DAM workflows and best practices.
• Monitor asset lifecycle, archive legacy content, and ensure storage and version control.

Required Experience

• At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in visual communications and storytelling is required.
• Experience working with creative teams and developing visual concepts is required.
• Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects and Illustrator, is required.
• Knowledge of typography, color and sound correction /production is required.
• Knowledge and experience in gender themes is desirable.
• International experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism or relevant field is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
