Overview
Provide high-quality transport and administrative support to the Country Office, including driving official vehicles and performing messenger and general facilities duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive official vehicle safely for the transport of the Country Manager and other authorized personnel.
- Undertake day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of the assigned vehicle.
- Log trips, mileage, gasoline consumption, oil changes, greasing and other servicing.
- Ensure appropriate steps are taken in case of involvement in an accident or other traffic-related incidents.
- Deliver local office correspondence by hand.
- Collect mail/documents from the mailbox at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Carry out office document handling, including photocopying, binding, scanning and sometimes filing.
- Scan copies of delivered correspondence and send via email.
- Support diplomatic pouch operations.
- Ensure oxygen tanks are always filled and accessible.
- Handle courier services.
- Ensure office printers and photocopiers are stocked with paper and toner.
- Perform other administrative duties as required.
- Work with the Office Facilities Coordinator on planning and scheduling internal office move logistics.
- Assist departments with move preparation activities.
- Help with internal office moves and post occupancy tasks.
- Assist the Facilities Coordinator on the monitoring, acquiring and disposal of physical assets.
- Support the process of disposing, maintaining and procuring office vehicles.
- Provide support to annual asset inventory.
- Perform simple, on-the-spot facilities repairs.
- Operate satellite phones as alternative means of communication.
- Provide transport and other support to the Country Office Crisis Management Team during emergencies and security-related incidents.
- Act or support during a fire evacuation.
Required Experience
- At least 10 years’ driving experience as a professional driver.
- Good knowledge of roadways, main government offices, embassies, commercial establishments.
- Defensive driving skills being an advantage.
- Driving experience and proved knowledge about transit regulations and traffic patterns in La Paz.
- Safe driving record and excellent references with regard to road safety practices.
- Prior experience of working with international agencies or diplomats is highly desirable.
- Some knowledge of auto mechanics.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft word/excel).
- Standard knowledge of office equipment (e.g. photocopies, scanners, fax).
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver’s license (Category “C”).
