Overview
Support the UN Resident Coordinator's Office (UNRCO) in Tanzania through systematic research on climate-related misinformation and disinformation. The role involves evidence gathering, analysis, and documentation to strengthen technical assessments and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structured desk reviews of media, policy documents, and research.
- Compile and organize evidence on climate-related misinformation and disinformation.
- Support stakeholder and target-audience mapping.
- Analyze and synthesize research findings.
- Prepare analytical notes and evidence tables.
- Support profiling and validation of trusted local messengers.
- Consolidate research findings into reference materials.
- Support preparation of presentation materials and handover documents.
Required Experience
Demonstrated experience conducting desk research, literature/media review, qualitative or quantitative analysis, and evidence synthesis. Experience supporting stakeholder mapping, programme research, communications research or evidence-based development initiatives is an asset. Familiarity with the Tanzanian development, environmental and climate policy context, media landscape, local institutions, civil society organisations (CSOs) and community networks is a strong asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Policy, International Development, Project Management, or a closely related field. A postgraduate qualification or relevant coursework is an asset.
