Cleaner-1

Overview

The Cleaner-1 role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of IRC premises in Logar and Kabul, Afghanistan.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain IRC premises in a clean and hygienic condition daily.
• Clean rooms, ceilings, surfaces, and equipment according to prescribed standards.
• Maintain tidiness of cupboards and desks.
• Request cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
• Maintain environmental hygiene within offices.
• Clean bathrooms daily.
• Ensure heaters are on during winter.
• Clean waste bins daily.
• Prepare waste bins for offices, bathrooms, and the office area.
• Change waste bags and clean bathrooms and related areas promptly.
• Sweep corridors, external stairs, and the exterior at least once a day.
• Lift and clean under desks, chairs, and sofas.
• Clean windows, coolers, lower parts of the house, and lighting fixtures as needed.
• Wash carpets as needed or requested.
• Provide laundry and kitchen cooking services as assigned.
• Provide emergency cleaning or spot cleaning as needed or requested.
• Maintain water sources as needed.
• Assist in preparing rooms for meetings and other activities as needed.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, including plumbing, lighting fixtures, windows, and doors.
• Report any breach of communications to the manager or supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Required Experience

At least one year of relevant work experience.

Qualifications

Completed grade 12 or at least the ability to read and write.
