Overview
The Safe & Inclusive Programming (SIP) Technical Officer will ensure adherence to NRC policies and coordinate cross-sectoral collaboration. The role involves leading gender and inclusion analysis, supporting partners in implementing gender-sensitive interventions, and training staff on gender mainstreaming and child safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and maintain the SIP checklist for education-related activities.
- Follow up on the implementation of the SIP AP and SIP recommendations.
- Assist and support in adapting training modules and provide tailored capacity building and Induction to education staff, facilitators, educators and other contractors.
- Act as a focal point SIRaR, conduct safe and timely Referrals (internal and external) along with the needed follow up.
- Maintain regular coaching to Education team regarding identification of cases in classrooms.
- Follow up on CFM SIP-related complaints, feedback and issues.
- Promote gender equality by introducing gender-sensitive teaching approaches and providing gender awareness training for educators.
- Support the establishment of safe spaces for both girls and boys.
- Facilitate gender, GBV and Disability training for educators on inclusive education practices.
- Follow up on Disability Planning by working with Education and MHPSS specialists.
- Deliver workshops and capacity building sessions on integrating psychosocial support into daily teaching practices.
- Represent NRC at area-level Child Protection, MHPSS, and Gender meetings.
- Maintain regular guidance and coaching to NRC Educators and staff on how to interact with sensitive cases of BLP Participants.
- Provide basic awareness-raising sessions on topics like Child Protection and PSS for parents, caregivers, and other community members.
- Conduct community engagement exercises like Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with youth and children, when needed.
- Implement BLP activities, including case analysis, reporting, and training for educators and partners.
- Deliver Non-violent Communication, Phycological First Aid (PFA), Positive Discipline and Anti-Bullying training and regular coaching to Educators.
- Regularly monitor the implementation of planned MHPSS activities in schools and provide ongoing support to educators.
- Collaborate with school-based counselors and staff to address any challenges in the delivery of MHPSS activities.
- Conduct daily visits to Education Learning centers, classrooms and facilities across NRC AOs as needed.
