Mixed Migration Coordinator

Overview

The Mixed Migration Coordinator provides technical oversight and support to sectorial teams working on mixed migration contexts, ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines. The role contributes to route-based interventions and programme design through evidence-based analysis and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the country strategy focusing on inclusion of people on the move.
• Support evidence-based analysis of mixed migration dynamics.
• Support the design and dissemination of messages for information provision.
• Support the analysis and application of national asylum and migration law and international legal standards.
• Support the identification and analysis of protection risks and needs of people on the move.
• Lead the development, harmonization and adaptation of technical tools and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Document lessons learned, good practices, and operational challenges.
• Provide technical input into assessments, project design, donor reporting and other programme documents.
• Support the developments of MEAL tools.
• Provide day-to-day technical supervision and guidance to DRC and implementing partners.
• Provide technical leadership in the adaptation and implementation of DRC’s approach to Mixed Migration.
• Strengthen technical capacity through training, coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job support.
• Facilitate sharing good practices and learning from other operations.
• Technical supervision of complex mixed migration dilemmas.
• Conduct regular field visits to review programme quality.
• Support the development, updating and dissemination of service mapping.
• Facilitate the dissemination of key evidence and information to other DRC offices.
• Represent DRC in relevant mixed migration coordination forums.
• Provide inputs for evidence-based advocacy.
• Engagement with national institutions and duty-bearers.
• Lead the overall program, ensuring all projects align with strategic goals, including strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and performance monitoring.
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and instructions to ensure compliance with DRC policies, standards, and strategies.
• Support managers and technical staff through regular communication, capacity building, and promotion of best practices.
• Support managers with assessing the technical skills and performance of most senior technical staff.
• Escalate and address issues of non-compliance or poor performance.
• Participate in the recruitment of most senior technical staff.

Required Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in mixed migration programming for an INGO. Experience working in route-based programming. Experience working with national partners, local/government authorities, and UN organizations.

Qualifications

Master's degree in law, political science, international development, sociology or other relevant field.
