Protection Assistant – Child Protection
Overview
The Protection Assistant – Child Protection will support learning through play initiatives and provide case management services to children at risk in Tripoli, in accordance with DRC’s Child Protection Policy and relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement learning through play initiatives in selected educational services.
- Participate in trainings and ongoing coaching.
- Provide ongoing coaching to educators.
- Facilitate group and community based child protection activities.
- Conduct activities relevant for the evolution of the Child Protection and overall Protection programme.
- Use participatory approaches to facilitate dialogues on protection concerns.
- Respect data confidentiality and protection.
- Ensure proper use of tools and online platforms for reporting.
- Collaborate with MEAL teams in carrying out monitoring, evaluation, and feedback activities.
- Represent DRC to a range of stakeholders.
- Collaborate and integrate with other DRC sectors.
- Ensure interactions with beneficiaries and community groups promote safety, agency, and dignity.
- Support the coordination of program activities related to logistics, administration, finance, or security.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and directives.
Required Experience
At least 1 year of professional experience in humanitarian interventions, preferably in child protection or a field requiring close work with children. Experience in related fields such as MHPSS and General Protection would also be considered. Experience in child protection activities within child friendly spaces and community-based approaches or schools preferred.
Qualifications
University Degree in the field of Education, Social Sciences, psychology, Community Development, Communication, Humanitarian Affairs, or any other related field. An educational background specifically requiring work with children will be preferred.
