Overview
The European Commission is seeking a Financial Officer to support its borrowing and lending operations in Luxembourg. The role focuses on data management and analysis for financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the front office team through the consolidation and extraction of information related to EU borrowing operations.
- Establish and maintain close contact with all team members and other DG BUDG teams responsible for data management.
- Become familiar with the Commission’s corporate systems for data storage and data management as well as external systems.
Required Experience
Sound track record of financial data management/analysis. Advanced skills of relevant IT systems (Excell, Python, etc.) as well as AI-based tools would be helpful. Previous experience in the management of financial operations in a private or public entity would be helpful.
Qualifications
Completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.

• Have a thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU.
• AND have a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.

Contract Duration
The duration of the first contract will be 1 year. Subject to the interest of the service, the contract may be renewed one or more times up to a maximum duration of 6 years.

The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
