Overview
The Visiting Professional will assist in the identification, legal research, analysis, and drafting of the Court’s policies within the Human Resources Section’s Legal and Policy Team. The role focuses on administrative law and HR-related procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the identification, legal research, analysis and drafting of the Court’s policies;
- Assist in the interpretation and application of the Court’s legal, operational and administrative HR-related procedures and policies;
- Conduct legal research on issues related to international administrative law, international civil service law and international labour law;
- Provide support with drafting of standard operating procedures, administrative issuances and other (legal) texts;
- Provide legal advice on issues related to staff benefits and entitlements and employment conditions;
- Assist in the preparation of memoranda and other documents on any subject assigned that pertains to the Section’s mandate.
Required Experience
At least 3 (three) years of relevant professional experience.
Qualifications
A Law degree or a relevant legal qualification from a recognised university. Specialization in (international) administrative law, employment law, contract law, or the law of international organizations is desirable. Prior knowledge of or working experience in international civil service law or the UN common system are highly desirable.
