Overview
This internship opportunity is within the Recruitment and Staff Development Unit, Human Resources Services, Office of the Executive Secretary. The intern will support activities related to staff learning and development, as well as talent acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support activities related to staff learning and development initiatives, including the Learning Hub, LMS-related activities, and related resources.
- Assist in maintaining and updating learning and training materials, communications, and online content.
- Support the organization and coordination of virtual and in-person group training activities.
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing learning and training-related information and feedback.
- Contribute to the preparation of learning resources, career development materials, presentations, reports, and other staff development content.
- Support talent outreach and employer branding activities, including research, benchmarking, and preparation of related materials and communications.
- Assist with activities related to online career fairs, webinars, and other recruitment outreach initiatives.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at attracting diverse and qualified candidate pools.
- Participate in meetings, events, career fairs, and webinars, and assist with related logistical support, note-taking, follow-up activities.
- Support HR communications, intranet content, user guides, and HR-related documentation.
- Assist with HR digitalization, automation, AI-related initiatives, and process improvement initiatives and research related to HR policies and practices within the UN common system and other international organizations.
- Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other HR-related materials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- No prior professional experience is required.
- Relevant professional experience or academic exposure to Human Resources is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- experience with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint, Outlook) is an asset.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and basic social media analytics is an asset.
- Experience with website content management, basic design tools, or audio-visual editing is an asset.
Qualifications
- The applicant must have completed at least two years of full-time study at a university or equivalent institution that will lead to the award of a degree in human resources management, business administration, social sciences, communications, marketing, law or related field.
- Applications may be made up to two years after the completion of a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree.
- Strong interest in Human Resources, particularly in Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, staff engagement, or organizational development, is required.
