Overview

Assist in implementing IOM’s LPG programme, including data collection, distribution, community mobilization, and follow-up on cash-for-work activities. The role involves conducting needs assessments, disseminating messages, and providing technical support to beneficiaries.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing IOM’s LPG programme, including data collection, distribution, community mobilization, fire safety, safe use of LPG equipment, and follow-up on cash-for-work activities in the field.
  • Assist in conducting needs and gap assessments, disseminating LPG-related messages to beneficiaries, and ensuring crowd control and security measures during activities.
  • Assist in providing technical support and guidance to households in implementing LPG activities in coordination with the field team.
  • Collect and document the best practices through surveys, focus group discussions and key informants’ interviews.
  • Collect accurate and updated data on the progress of the programmes and produce daily and weekly reports and other ad-hoc updates as required.
  • Ensure the maintenance of project records, distribution lists, need assessment forms, beneficiary selection criteria, training attendance sheets, labor attendance sheets, and stock records and assist in compiling documents required for project implementation.
  • Support coordination in camps during project implementation, including supplier, Site Management and Site Development, Protection, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene related actors, as well as with government entities.
  • Support in organizing field level meetings for staffs and volunteers as well as conducting specific training and orientation for the implementation of LPG activities for beneficiaries.
  • Provide general guidance to third-party/cash for work personnel in the implementation of the above-mentioned activities in accordance with the programmes’ guiding documents and instructions.
  • Strict adherence to IOM’s Code of Conduct, PSEA principles, and all related organizational policies and guidelines at all times.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Perform any other duties as needed.
Required Experience
  • High school diploma with three years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Engineering/Architecture/Planning, DRR/Environment or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in humanitarian response programming, needs assessment, data collection & reporting, monitoring and review.
  • Experience in distribution, training, community mobilization, and sensitization is an advantage
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government, or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Previous working experience on LPG operations in a humanitarian setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Engineering/Architecture/Planning, DRR/Environment or related fields from an accredited academic institution

Fluency in Bangla and Working knowledge in English (oral and written)
Languages Preferred
Local Chittagonian language will be considered an advantage
