Overview
The Senior Support Coordinator will support the delivery of high-quality operational services to specific offices under the guidance of the Head of Area Offices. The role assists in ensuring timely and effective operational support for projects and contributes to maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate resources are available to programme teams.
- Support field teams in identifying and supporting civil society partners.
- Provide technical input and support to staff developing emergency response programmes.
- Oversee operational budgets and provide financial reports.
- Act as a representative for the office.
- Support operational teams in providing assistance to other area offices.
- Ensure effective collaboration and coordination among operations, Programme Managers, and programme staff.
- Oversee recruitment and development of field-based support staff.
- Ensure field-based support staff build and maintain technical skills.
- Ensure effective use of induction, probationary, and Performance Management Review systems.
- Manage administrative coordination across offices.
- Provide HR advice and support regarding HR practices.
- Support and coordinate recruitment for offices.
- Ensure field staff receive thorough induction on role and SCI practices.
- Support new starters through probation and ensure performance management reviews are carried out.
- Ensure accurate and timely HR reporting and prompt salary payments.
- Build capacities of operational staff through on-the-job coaching.
- Ensure functionality of IT systems and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Promote proper use of organizational tools and data protection practices.
- Support operational budget oversight.
- Contribute to budget monitoring, planning, and reporting processes.
- Ensure staff provide beneficiaries with information about SCI’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Ensure Safe Recruitment processes include robust checks.
- Ensure all field staff receive thorough induction on role and SCI policies.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in managing operations and support services.
- Demonstrable experience of designing, facilitating, and evaluating training.
- Experience in development or humanitarian sector.
- Experience in developing and supporting teams, and the ability to lead, motivate and build the capacity of teams.
- Strong ability to work in a participatory way, strong facilitation skills, and strong ability for true and empowering delegation.
- Experience and demonstrated strong knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control.
- Demonstrated skills in networking and advocacy.

• University degree in management, or social sciences or another relevant field
